Biography

  Simona Štangová, a contemporary dancer, choreographer and teacher, comes from Slovakia and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Movement Studies and Dance Pedagogy at the Anton Bruckner Privat Universität in Linz, Austria.

  She started with her professional training in the Conservatory J.L. Bellu in Banská Bystrica, where she also took part of the Conservatory’s company. Since 2014 she is based in Linz, where alongside her studies she has taken part in several creations. She has performed in productions by Anatoliy Ivanov and Ola Osowicz, State Opera in Banská Bystrica, Landestheatre Linz, Kunstuni Graz, Enyer Ruiz, Maja Lamovšek, Jaskaran Anand, Tomáš Moravanský, Reinier M. Badilla, among others. In 2018 she did a student exchange at ACTS - École de danse contemporaine de Paris and  an intership at Cie Toula Limnaios in Berlin.

  Since 2013 she starts choreographing with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary work and premieres the pieces „Drinking Song“, „Compass Border“, „Plasticine“ and „Minor ChangE“. Currently she works on her own choreographic work and performering, being assistant-choreographer and co-director for other artists based in Austria and Slovakia. She has performed and taught in Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, Costa Rica and Mexico.
